Joseph Fabre

Joseph Fabre OMI (* November 24, 1824 in Cuges, † October 26, 1892 in Royaumont ) was Oblate of Mary Immaculate and 1861-1892 also superior general of this community.

He first studied in the diocesan seminary of Marseilles, before he entered Notre -Dame de l' Osier the novitiate of the Missionary Oblates. On 29 May 1847 he was consecrated by Eugene de Mazenod, the then Superior General of Community and Bishop of Marseille, a priest. He worked as a professor and superior of the seminary of Marseilles, as Attorney General of his community, and finally as General Assistant. After the death of Eugen Mazenods he was elected on December 5, 1861 the Superior General of the Oblates. He died on 26 October 1892 in Royaumont.
