Joseph Hill

Joseph Hill ( born January 22, 1949 at Jamaica; † 19 August 2006 in Berlin ) was a Jamaican singer, guitarist and songwriter with the reggae band Culture.

Joseph Hill, who had collected Studio experience since the early seventies as a percussionist with the Soul Defenders at the famous Studio One Coxsone Dodd of, founded 1976, the reggae band Culture. Under Hill Culture produced a total of 30 albums and the vast number of songs he wrote himself He became internationally known in particular by the 1977 released album Two Sevens Clash, which does not last left its mark on the emerging punk movement.

He died suddenly on August 19, 2006 of a heart attack in Berlin while he was with his band on tour in Europe. The Tour but was continued in his honor, and his role took son Kenyatta.
