Joseph Jimenez

Joseph "Joe" Jimenez (* 1959 in Walnut Creek, California) is an American manager. Since 2010 he has been Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of the Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis.

The manager with Italian - Spanish roots grew up in California. He studied at Stanford University Economics and completed his studies in 1982. In 1984 he completed a Masters of Business Administration course at the University of California, Berkeley in San Francisco. He is Vice - President of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA ) and member of the Patronage Committee of the Inter- Pharma.

Jimenez worked at Clorox, ConAgra Foods, HJ Heinz Company, AstraZeneca and Blackstone Group, till he came to Novartis in April 2007. Since 2010 he has been CEO of Novartis.

Jimenez lives in Reinach BL. He is the father of two sons and a daughter.
