Joseph-Louis Lambot

Joseph -Louis Lambot ( May 22nd 1814 Montfort- sur -Argens, † August 2, 1887 in Brignoles ), the inventor of the first watercraft was in concrete. Lambot studied in Paris. In 1841 he moved to the family estate in Miraval (southern France ). There he devoted himself to agriculture and started in first attempt barrels of concrete produced with steel inserts. In 1848 he built the first prototype of a concrete boat, patented it on 30 January 1855, presented at the 1855 Universal Exhibition, the first reinforced concrete water craft from. The prototype of the boat is now in the Museum of Brignoles.
