Josip Stritar

Josip Stritar ( born March 6, 1836 in Podsmreka at Veliki Lašče, † November 25, 1923 in Rogaska Slatina in Ptuj ) was a Slovene writer and critic.

Josip Stritar came from a peasant family. He worked as a school teacher in Vienna from 1873. Stritar published the literary magazine " Zvon " (1870, 1875-80 ). He wrote formally complex poetry, satires, novels and short stories.
