Jovan Aćimović

Jovan Aćimović ( born June 21, 1948 in Belgrade ) is a former Yugoslav football player.

The midfielder played in 1964 in the youth field of OFK Belgrade coming, one year for the first team of OFK before he moved to the city rivals FK Red Star Belgrade in 1965. Between 1965 and 1976 he played there a total of 237 league games and scored 44 goals. A guest performance he gave at the 1 FC Saarbrücken ( 1976-1978 ) for which he scored a goal in 41 Bundesliga games. With Red Star Belgrade he won in 1968, 1969, 1970 and 1973 respectively, the Yugoslav Championship.

His international debut for the Yugoslav national team, he announced on June 8, 1968 against Italy (1-1) in Rome. The last of his 55 caps ( 3 goals ), he played on 19 June 1976 ( EM- round ) against the Netherlands (2-3 ) in Zagreb. He took part in both the 1974 World Cup as well as at the European Championships in 1968 and 1976.
