Joy was an Austrian dance-pop band.
History
The band JOY was in Bad Aussee, an Austrian town founded with about 5,000 inhabitants. ( * February 25, 1959) Andy Schweitzer ( born February 26, 1960), Freddy Jaklitsch (born 22 January 1960) and Manfred Temmel were school friends - and as a teenager you played in various amateur bands; after high school but they have chosen different careers. Andy became a policeman, Freddy taught German and history at school, and Manfred was a popular DJ in the " Orion" disco club in the German city of Traunreut.
1984 brought Andy Schweitzer again to start all 3 together together a music career. Fast enough got the three young talents a record deal - with the Austrian label OK - Musica. The record company commissioned Michael Scheickl ( born March 27, 1957; represented Austria in the 1982 Euro Vision Song Contest with the duo measurement ), " three boys from the country," to carry out all curves and dangers of show business.

In the summer of 1986 JOY returned back to the studio to record their second album Joy and Tears record. The album release was preceded by the single Japanese Girls. This single made JOY extremely popular in Asia!
Your tour of Asia, the JOY led to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Seoul in January and February 1987, was attended by more than 60,000 enthusiastic fans.
In Seoul, South Korea, JOY played in front of 24,000 fans at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium, and sang with a customized version of their Simmen 24,003 hits Japanese Girls - Special version: Korean Girls.

July 15, 2011 JOY played in Estonia, while Viljandi Retro Festival. More than seven thousand spectators of Estonia and Latvia came to see JOY.
November 2011 JOY played in Moscow again to Disco 80 Festival.
