Joy Smithers

Joy Smithers ( born July 15, 1963 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian actress.

Life and career

Joy Smithers was born in 1963 in Sydney. At the age of 12, she started at the magazine Vogue to work as a model. At 15, her and her sister Susan, a five-year contract were offered by a U.S. music producer. One of their songs was awarded an ARIA Award. Her biggest success was to Smithers ' statement a performance with the band Perther € Gliders before Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

Smithers is known in Australia from the television series The Flying Doctors, Home and Away and All Saints. She gained international recognition in 1989 with Nicole Kidman and Denholm Elliott for her role as Mandy Engels in the Australian miniseries Bangkok Hilton. Smithers acting in the action movie Mad Max: Fury Road, a continuation of the Mad Max series from the 1980s, with whose release is planned for 2014.

Joy Smithers is married in second marriage with Tony Haines since 2000. This connection came a son and a daughter. Smithers 1992 born daughter Sasha Simon, a young Australian actress, is from a previous relationship.
