Juan de Dios Orozco

Juan de Dios Orozco (* in Rivas ) was in 1843 briefly president of Nicaragua.

Life

After the plans of the annexation of Central America through Mexico under Agustín de Iturbide were in 1823 failed, fled the Superintendent of Leon, Bishop Garcia Jerez, a supporter of the annexation of León and a commission of Juan de Dios Orozco, the Father Dionisio Urcuyo Crespín and the Alcalde of Sutiaba, Juan Hernández, transferred the Intendency ( management of the Cabildo ) of León González Saravia Brigadier.

A second law on the authorities was adopted in 1838 and created the Office of the Supremo Director for a term of two years. The term of office of Pablo Buitrago, who held this office as the first, ended on 1 April 1843. The Office was provisionally clothed by Juan de Dios Orozco. During his tenure, elections were held, which, took place in complete freedom according to press reports. However, no candidate reached a qualified majority, which is why Manuel Pérez was elected by Parliament in the office.
