Juan Laurentino Ortiz (Argentine poet)

Juan Lauren Tino Ortiz ( born June 11, 1896 in Puerto Ruiz, Entre Ríos Province, † September 2, 1978 in Paraná, Entre Rios Province) was an Argentine poet and writer.

Around 1910, Ortiz went for three years to Buenos Aires to study at the city's Universidad de Buenos Aires philosophy. He then returned to his home province and stayed there - apart from a trip when he in 1957 at the invitation of the Communist Party of China by the Soviet Union and People's Republic of China traveled - stay for the rest of his life.

1915 Ortiz got a job as a clerk at the registry office of Guayaquil and remained there until 1942. Upon his retirement, he withdrew almost completely from the public life.
