Juan Lindolfo Cuestas

Lindolfo Juan de los Reyes Cuesta York ( born January 6, 1837 in Paysandú, † June 21, 1905 in Paris, France ) was a Uruguayan politician.

Cuesta was one of the Partido Colorado, and was President of Uruguay from 1897 to 1899 and for a second term of 1899 until 1903. He was elected in 1899, both of Blancos and Colorados and contributed decisively to the reconciliation of opposing in the past few decades the conflict of the Blancos and at Colorado. The Blancos he confessed one-third of the seats to the National Assembly.
