Jubilee River

The Jubilee River is a 11.6 km long canal in southern England, which was built in the late 1990s and early 2000s to prevent flooding of certain areas at high water of the Thames. The channel protects, among other Maidenhead, Windsor and Eton in the counties of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

This is achieved by the excess water of the Thames is diverted through the canal above Boulter 's Lock near Maidenhead and is supplied to the river again until less than Eton.

Was named the channel 2002 on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II
