Jüchen

Juechen is a municipality in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, North Rhine -Westphalia. The community is located between the north-west Mönchengladbach and the southeastern Grevenbroich. The Garzweiler mine is located south of Juechen nearby.

Hochneukirch was called up to the connection to the imperial railway network in 1873 Neukirchen.

History

First settlements date back to the prehistoric period ( Linear Pottery culture ). The place name probably derives from the Roman Villa Jucunda from, which was located on the western edge of today's Juechen. From the time of the 6th and 7th century Frankish graves were found. Incorporations

The community Elsen was incorporated into the city Grevenbroich and the community Elfgen remained an independent municipality in the Juechen. The community Kelzenberg was on this short disbanded and incorporated into the parish Juechen. In 1964, the municipality Elfgen was disbanded due to the lignite plans and the place was in the city Grevenbroich his resettlement site. On January 1, 1975, the new church Juechen was formed from the communities Juechen, Hochneukirch, Garzweiler and Bedburdyck.

The coat of arms was approved on 21 July 1978. Open-cast mining
