Juhu

Juhu ( Marathi: जुहू, Juhu [ ʤuɦu ː ] ) is a district in the western Indian city of Mumbai, in the district of Mumbai Suburban. He is famous for his huge beach, the Juhu Beach. In the West, Juhu is the Arabian Sea, in the east of Santa Cruz and Vile Parle. It is one of the most affluent areas in Mumbai. The actor Ajay Devgan, Amitabh Bachchan, Amrish Puri and many other Indian celebrities have homes in Juhu.

Juhu Beach

Juhu Beach is the most famous beach in Mumbai. It is located about 30 kilometers from the city center, on the Arabian Sea in the district of Juhu. At the southern end of Juhu Beach there are numerous hotels, apartment houses and shops. There are three main entrances, one located in Vile Parle, another in Santa Cruz, and a third in Andheri. Many tourists from Mumbai to visit the beach and during the summer holidays often play a lot of children on the beach cricket, football and basketball. At five km long sandy beach can be seen daily performances by street performers and acrobats.

Juhu Aerodrome

The Juhu Aerodrome is an airport in the south of the district Juhu. In 1928 he was inaugurated as the first civilian airport. Currently, only operated a single start and runway of the Airports Authority of India. At the airport, the chase scene was filmed at the beginning of the Oscar-nominated film Slumdog Millionaire (2008).
