Juicy J

Juicy J ( born April 5, 1975 in Memphis, Tennessee; actually Jordan Michael Houston ) is an American rapper and music producer. He is one half and a founding member of the rap group Three 6 Mafia. He is the brother of rapper Project Pat

Career

Juicy J and DJ Paul worked as a DJ in Memphis and began working together in the early 1990s. They started in 1991 as Triple 6 Mafia, and later called themselves Three 6 Mafia: There was a hip-hop crew that helped the rap from the south of the United States to break through. As a producer and rapper Juicy J was involved in numerous albums of the Department and its members. By 2000 they had their breakthrough in the American charts.

In 2001, Juicy J undertook a first time trip into the movie business and took in direct production the film Choices, on which most of the crew were involved. The following year, he released his first solo album. Chronicles of the Juice Man was a moderate success and was in the top 20 of the R & B charts.

In the following years, Juicy J was back with Three 6 Mafia successful. In addition, he co-wrote with DJ Paul the song It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp for the film Hustle & Flow. It's about a rapper in Memphis, who creates this song his breakthrough. The song was honored at the Academy Awards in 2006 for Best Original Song. It was the first hip- hop song, which was performed at an award ceremony.

2009, launched his second solo Juicy J start. With the album Hustle Till I Die, it remained standing by the success of the previous album. It was only a label change brought him in the following years forward: He joined the Taylor Gang by Wiz Khalifa. With Bandz a Make Her Dance, in which he was supported by Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, he had his first hit single in 2012, and thus came to number 29 for the next album release, he signed with Columbia Records. It was followed by two more chart singles before the late summer of 2013 his third album, Stay Trippy appeared. Thanks to the previous success, the album debuted at number 4 on the U.S. charts and reached # 1 on the rap albums.

Then he participated in singles, where pop stars like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber were involved. He had his biggest hit in early 2014 with a collaboration with Katy Perry. Their single Dark Horse reached # 1 on the U.S. charts and was also an international hit.
