Jules Pasdeloup

Jules Pasdeloup ( born September 15, 1819 in Paris, † August 14 1887 in Fontainebleau ) was a French conductor.

Jules Pasdeloup studied from 1829 to 1833 Violin and piano at the Paris Conservatory. In 1851 he founded the Société des Jeunes Artistes. In 1861 he founded with its own orchestra, the popular concerts, which were held until shortly before his death and where he devoted himself particularly to the dissemination of the works of Richard Wagner and Robert Schumann in France. 1918, Serge Sandberg revive the concerts again, it was the Orchestre Pasdeloup active until today. Besides Édouard Colonne and Charles Lamoureux Pasdeloup one of the most important conductors and concert events of the second half of the 19th century in Paris.
