Julia Pierson

Julia A. Pierson ( born July 21, 1959 in Orlando, Florida) is an American official. She was appointed on March 27, 2013 President Barack Obama as the first woman Director of the United States Secret Service.

Life

After studying at the University of Central Florida Pierson worked for three years with the Orlando Police Department. In 1983, she was " Special Agent " in the office of the Secret Service in Miami and was employed from 1985 to 1988 in his office in Orlando. In 2008, she was Chief of Staff, March 27 2013, it is the top official of the authority. President Barack Obama she certain as successor of Mark J. Sullivan. Pierson's appointment is seen as a sign of Obama, to change the culture within the male-dominated Secret Service fundamentally.
