Julian Savulescu

Julian Savulescu ( born December 22, 1963) is a philosopher. He is Professor of Applied Ethics at St Cross College, Oxford.

Life

Savulescu studied medicine at Monash University (Bachelor, 1988) and his PhD in 1994 with Peter Singer. From 1994 to 1997 he was a scientist at Oxford; 1997-98 at Monash University. From 1998 to 2002 he was director of the ethics program at the Murdoch Children's Research Unit, University of Melbourne. Since 2002 he is professor at the University of Oxford.

Work

Savulescus research interests include bioethics issues such as cloning, stem cells, genetics, Artificial reproduction and neuroscience.
