Juliet Barker

Juliet RV Barker (born 1958, Yorkshire ) is a British historian. The focus of her work are medieval studies and literary historical biographies. She is the author of several highly regarded works on the Brontë sisters, William Wordsworth and the medieval tournament beings.

Barker was educated at Bradford Girls' Grammar School and St Anne 's College, Oxford. In recognition of her outstanding literary historical biographies gave her 1999, the University of Bradford Honorary Doctorate in Literature ( honorary Doctorate of Letters ). In 2001 she was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.

Barker is married and has two children. She lives in the South Pennines.
