Julieta Campos

Julieta Campos ( born May 8, 1932 in Havana, † September 5, 2007 in Mexico City) was a Mexican writer and translator of Cuban origin.

Campus learned during their studies at the University of Havana, the Mexican politician and writer Enrique González Pedrero and married him shortly thereafter. When her husband went back to his home country, she accompanied him.

Between 1978 and 1982 led Campos, the Mexican association of writers PEN.

1983 won her husband the election for governor of Tabasco, they lived until 1987 in the capital of Villahermosa. During this time, Campos acted for the Mexican publishing house Fondo de Cultura Económica ( FCE) as a translator.

The politician Andrés Manuel López Obrador called them in 2000 as director of the Tourism Authority in his cabinet.

At the age of 75 years Julieta Campos died of their cancer on 5 September in Mexico City and found their final resting place.
