Julio César Green

Julio Cesar Green ( born May 19, 1967 in Las Terrenas, Samaná Province ) is a former professional boxer from the Dominican Republic and former world champion of the WBA middleweight.

Boxing career

Green was in October 1990 and was professional in his 16th fight on October 23, 1993 to win the North American Championship in NABF light middleweight prematurely against Wayne Powell ( 31-4 ). On April 19, 1994, he defended the title against prematurely Lonnie Beasley (22-1 ).

On 16 June 1995 he was defeated in the battle for the WBA World Championship light middleweight on points against Carl Daniels ( 34-1 ), but the WBA title won in August 1997 in the next higher weight class by a unanimous points victory against William Joppy (24 - 0). But even in direct rematch in January 1998 Green lost time on points.

Although he won in February 1999, the Interim WBA World Cup against Darren Obah ( 16-2), but lost the battle for the regular World Cup on 24 September 1999 again against William Joppy. He then moved to the super middleweight and boxed on 27 July 2002 by the WBA world this weight class against Byron Mitchell (24-1 ) to this had to admit defeat prematurely, however. On March 13, 2004, he lost by a body hit by Ko in the first round against Mikkel Kessler ( 32-0 ) and finished his career in September of the same year.
