Júlio César Jacobi

Júlio César Jacobi (born 2 September 1986 Guaramirim, Brazil) is a Brazilian football player who currently is under contract with the Portuguese giants, Benfica.

Career

César began in August 2005, his professional career at Botafogo FR, where he signed a contract for five years. His first competitive match for Botafogo FR, he completed on 26 November 2006, a 0-0 draw against SC Corinthians Paulista.

After three years of professional football in Brazil, he left the club towards Portugal to Belenenses Lisbon. His debut in the Primeira Liga was Júlio César Jacobi on 29 February 2008 against Marítimo Funchal, when he came on in it in the 29th minute. Then he missed a single minute during his time at Belenenses and played in every competitive match.

After 42 games for Belenenses, he moved early August 2009 local rivals Benfica. Jorge Jesus, manager of SL Benfica, César knew from his time of Belenenses and let oblige the goalkeeper after Marcelo Moretto's contract was terminated. César signed a contract for five years.

At the beginning of the season 2011/12 he spent a year on loan to Spanish side Granada CF. After expiry of the loan contract, he returned to Benfica, but does not belong to the current squad.
