Julius Aghahowa

Julius Aghahowa ( born February 12, 1982 in Benin City ) is a Nigerian football player. He currently plays for PFK Sevastopol and the Nigerian national team.

Association

Aghahowa began his career in 1997 at the Nigerian club Bendel Insurance. There he played, however, only two years before he joined the Tunisian club Espérance Sportive de Top - Tunis. But even there it did not keep him long and signed a contract with the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk top, which entered into force on 1 January 2000. There he was three time Ukrainian Champion ( 2002, 2005 and 2006) and won the Ukrainian Cup. On 30 January 2007 he moved to the English Premier League club Wigan Athletic, for whom he was able to achieve a single goal, however, in one and a half years.

For an estimate of 1 million euro transfer fee he was taken on July 20, 2008 Kayserispor under contract. On 5 October 2008, he helped his team with his hat-trick to a surprising 4-1 away success against the runner-up Fenerbahçe Istanbul.

In July 2009 he returned to Shakhtar Donetsk. For the 2010/11 season he is on loan to the PFK Sevastopol.

National

With the Nigerian national team, he participated in the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, where he was especially noticeable by his goal celebration during the 1-2 against Sweden, for which he would have received good grades in gymnastics. He also took part in four Nigeria Africa Cup, where he once second ( in Ghana and Nigeria, 2000) and three times each was third ( in Mali in 2002, in Tunisia in 2004 and Egypt in 2006). So far Aghahowa completed 32 games for Nigeria, scoring 14 goals.
