The focus of the weekly series is the big-game hunter Jim Bradley, the decides to move on his adventures in the deepest jungle, and other exotic locales.

Publication of Comics

The Adventure Comic Jungle Jim launched on January 7, 1934 in stores supplied by the publisher King Features American Sunday newspapers on one side with the incipient also on this day science fiction comic Flash Gordon. The two stories conceived as a sequel series were drawn by newcomer Alex Raymond.

The two series were intended as a competitor to the popular newspaper comics Buck Rogers and Tarzan. While Flash Gordon Buck Rogers in the public favor surpassed quickly and permanently, to Jungle Jim was able to hold only a few years against Tarzan. 1944 Raymond gave the series along with Flash Gordon to his assistant from Austin Briggs. In 1948 Paul Norris to work on Jungle Jim. 1954 Jungle Jim was finally stopped. In Germany two volumes of Jungle Jim comic books published by Feest Verlag.
