Jun’ichi Nishizawa

Nishizawa Jun'ichi (Japanese西泽 润 一, Nishizawa Jun'ichi; born September 12, 1926 in Sendai, Japan) is a Japanese engineer who, among other things 1950 with his colleagues invented the pin diode.

Career

At Tohoku University in 1948, he earned his BS and 1960, the Doctor of Engineering. Since 1953 he worked here at the Research Institute of Electrical Communication, was a professor and director of two research institutes. 1990 to 1996 he was president of the university. In 1998 he was president of the Prefecture Iwate University. He is currently President of the Metropoli 's University of Tokyo.
