Jun’ichi Saga

Jun'ichi Saga (Japanese佐贺 纯一, Jun'ichi Saga; * 1941 in Japan) is a Japanese author, who holds a doctorate and in the north-east of Tokyo located Tsuchiura ( Ibaraki Prefecture) maintains at the Keio University in medicine a doctor's office.

In his work as an author, he is inspired by his mostly elderly patients, whose stories he holds for his book projects as notes. For a documentary book, which has traced the emigration of Japanese to Hawaii, he received the NHK Prize, and his book Memories of Silk was honored by the Foreign Press in Japan Book of the Year. His book Confessions of a Yakuza served as unauthorized template for Bob Dylan's " Love and Theft " album of 2001. Saga did not take Dylan unauthorized use of his lyrics but ill, but was pleased, according to press reports about the fact that his work could serve as a source of inspiration.
