Jürgen Bähringer

Jürgen Bähringer ( born August 19, 1950 in Greiz ) is a former German football player, he played for FC Karl- Marx-Stadt in the GDR Oberliga.

Jürgen Bähringer began his career with BSG Fortschritt Greiz. In 1972 he moved to BSG Motor Werdau and only a year later to FC Karl- Marx-Stadt in the GDR Oberliga. There was Bähringer regulars quickly. He denied 1973-1988 350 league games for FCK, scoring 57 goals. With the FCK Bähringer reached no titles. Greatest success at the club level was reaching the fdgb Cup 1982/83, in the captain Bähringer the clear favorite subject 1 FC Magdeburg 0:4. In the history of the GDR Oberliga Bähringers hit went down in the season 1984/85, which the goalkeeper Bernd Jakubowski surprised from 42 meters against Dynamo Dresden.

On May 7, 1980, in a 2-2 draw against the USSR Bähringer his only use in an international match for the national football team of the GDR. At the Olympic Games in 1980 Bähringer won the silver medal with the East German selection. With his teammates, he was awarded in the same year with the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze.

Early 2006 was appointed honorary captain Jürgen Bähringer from Chemnitz FC.

After ending his competitive sport career, he returned to his hometown club FC 1 Greiz, he remains loyal to this day back.
