Juruena National Park

The Juruena National Park is located in the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso, Amazonas and Pará, and is named after the river Juruena, which flows through the area, later united with the Teles Pires and then the Amazon Creek Tapajoss forms.

General

The National Park was as part of the ARPA program ( Amazon Region Protected Areas) of the Brazilian government established on 5 June 2006 and consists of 19,570 square kilometers, which are mainly characterized by almost untouched rainforest with its typical diverse animal and plant life.
