Justice Party (Ghana)

The Justice Party (JP) was a political party in Ghana.

The NAL was dominated by the people and the interests of the party with Ewe also important influences of the existing party to 1966 Convention People's Party (CPP ).

Your followers found the JP mainly in the large coastal cities and a total in the southern part of Ghana with a focus on the ethnic group of the Ewe, as before, the NAL.

History

It was founded in the United Nationalist Party and the All People's Republican Party in October 1970 by the Association of National Alliance of Liberals (NAL ), and saw itself as an opposition party since the ruling Progress Party of Prime Minister Kofi Busia Abrefa.

The chairman of the NAL, Komla Agbeli Gbedemah was dismissed shortly after the elections of 29 August 1969 the Supreme Court of his parliamentary seat after his conviction for serious financial crimes. Leaderless, the NAL concluded with the two above mentioned parties, as well as a further smaller, also represented in the National Assembly party, chaired by Joe Appiah for Justice Party together. Some time later, Eric Madjitey took over the chairmanship of the party.

With the establishment of the Justice Party 29 of the 140 seats of the National Assembly ( National Assembly), or about 30.4 percent of the vote in the Ghanaian Parliament held. The Justice Party was so until the military coup of January 13, 1972 under their leader Ignatius Kutu important Acheampong Ghana's opposition party. Together with the other parties, the Justice Party was banned after the military coup in January 1972.
