Kabayaki

Kabayaki (Japanese蒲焼き) is a Japanese fish dish, especially with eel-like fish. Kabayaki is a type of Teriyaki (照り 焼き).

You eat Kabayaki since the Edo period, which is why it is now one of the traditional dishes of Japanese regional cuisine. Kaba (蒲) means leaved cattail in Japanese. The court, half a boneless eel, similar to the appearance of a pipe piston, hence the name derives.
