Kabul Province

Kabul ( Pashto, Persian کابل ) is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan. It has about 3.528 million inhabitants ( 2007-2008) and an area of ​​4,462 square kilometers. The population density is 790.7 inhabitants per square kilometer. Capital of the province of Afghanistan is Kabul.

The province is located in the east of the country near the Khyber Pass, an important link to Pakistan and India. It is bounded on the east by the Koh -e Paghman Mountains in the southwest to the Koh -e Qrough Mountains and on the northeast by the Koh -e Shirdarwaza Mountains. The largest river in the province is Kabul. There clothing, furniture and beet sugar are mainly produced.

The province is the most important settlement of the Tajiks in Afghanistan. Their language, the Kabul dialect of Persian ( locally also called Dari ) is the government and business language of the country and has all the other languages ​​and dialects in the country since its inception. The Tajiks make up more than half the population of the province, followed by Pashtuns, Hazaras, Uzbeks, Turkmen, Baluchis, Sikhs and Hindus.
