The Kachliner Lake is located on the island of Usedom, in the southwestern area of ​​the Thurbruchs. The lake has an area of ​​about 100 hectares and is averaging 1.5 meters deep. Southwest of the lake is the Dargener district Kachlin.

In the 18th century began to gain in Thurbruch by drainage measures new agricultural land.
