Kaci Kullmann Five

Kaci Kullmann Five, actually Karin Cecilie Kullmann Five ( born April 13, 1951 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian politician of the conservative party Høyre. She was from 1981 to 1997 Storting representatives and 1989-1990 Minister of Trade. Since 2003 she is a member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.

Life

Kaci Five was the daughter of the dentist Kjell Kullmann (1925-1996) and the dental hygienist Anne -Lise Heiberg. She studied law, French and political science at the University of Oslo and worked for the Norwegian Employers' Association. She is married to the publisher Carsten O. Five.

Policy

Five was from 1975 to 1981 local politician in Bærum. In 1981 she was elected for the province of Akershus in the Storting Storting and was part of this until 1997. From 1985 to 1986 she was Deputy Chairman of the Parliament and from 1986 to 1989 and again from 1990 to 1991 Deputy of the conservative opposition leader. From 1982 to 1988 she was also deputy chairman of their party. From 1989 to 1990 Five was a member of the government 's trade minister in the cabinet of Jan P. Syse. As of 1991, it was the successor of Jan P. Syse chairman of the Conservative Party, but resigned in 1994 back from that office.

Return in the economy

After her retirement from the Storting in 1997, she was Managing Director of Aker RGI (until 2002) and board member of the largest Norwegian oil company Statoil (2002-2007). In 2002 she founded her own consulting firm. Since 2003 she is a member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, and thus involved in the selection of the Nobel Peace Prize.
