Kadir TopbaÅŸ

Kadir Topbaş (pronounced topbasch ) ( born January 8, 1945 in Altıparmak, community Yusufeli, Artvin Province, Turkey), since 24 March 2004, the mayor of İstanbul. He is a member of the AKP.

Topbaş ' father Hüseyin Topbaş came to Istanbul in 1928, his mother until 1935. 's Mother was during the Second World War in her home village of the district Altıparmak Yusufeli the province of Artvin and so Kadir Topbaş was born on January 8, 1945 there. The final move to İstanbul in April of the year 1945. The elementary school and the high school he graduated from İstanbul. In 1972 he graduated from the Theological Faculty in Istanbul and in 1974 the Faculty of Architecture at the Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi. His dissertation wrote Topbaş on the standing of Hidiv kasir ( kasir is Arabic for property ) in civil architecture on the Bosporus.

He has worked for many years as an architect, a short time he was also a teacher at Küçükçekmece High School in İstanbul. Topbaş was 1994-1998 Advisor to the then mayor Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During this time he has engaged in the restoration of many historical sites in Istanbul. The Culture Ministry, he has represented the interests of the Chamber of Architects as the elected chairman. He was elected mayor of Beyoglu and on 24 March 2004 as mayor of Istanbul in 1999. On 29 March 2009, he was confirmed by the local elections in Turkey in 2009 in his office, as of 2014. Kadir Topbaş is married and the father of two sons and a daughter.
