Kahlúa

Kahlúa is a Mexican coffee liqueur brand. The liqueur is made coffee, sugar cane and vanilla. Kahlúa has a strong coffee flavor, and as in all other countries except the U.S. state of Ohio, only with 20 % alcohol sold in the "original " version in Germany since 2004. In Ohio, the alcohol content is 21.5 %. Since 2005, the manufacturer is part of the Pernod Ricard.

It is used for many cocktails such as the " White Russian ", the " Black Russian " or "B -52 " and is a standard part of any cocktail.

As of 2002, the manufacturer introduced variants of the original Kahlúa on the market: Kahlúa Especial has a higher rum and a lower sugar content and thus a stronger coffee flavor than Kahlúa.

2007 variants Kahlúa Kahlúa Hazelnut Vanilla and were introduced to the U.S. and the Canadian market, Kahlúa Mocha followed in 2008.
