Kaimur Range

The Kaimur mountains (Hindi: . कैमूर Kaimur [ mu ː r kɛ ː ]; engl Kaimur Range Kaimur Hills or ) are an extension of the Vindhyagebirges in the Indian states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

The Kaimur Mountains extend approximately from Katangi at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh to Sasaram in Bihar. The nearly 500 km long and up to 80 kilometers wide mountain range runs from southwest to northeast through Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh (District Sonbhadra ) and Bihar ( districts Kaimur and Rohtas ). The Kaimur mountains reach a height of up to 600 meters. To the south, they fall abruptly to the deep valley of the Son River from back.
