Kaiserpalast

The Imperial Palace was a neo-baroque commercial building in Dresden. It stood as a prestigious main building at the north side of the square between Pirnaischer Moritz ring and Amalienstraße. From 1895 to 1897, was built as a commercial building by the architect Ilgen Schilling and Graebner for the entrepreneur Hermann Ilgen.

On the ground floor of the office building, a restaurant was housed, after 1920, a branch of Commerzbank. On the upper floors to apartments and were on the fourth floor studios.

The five-storey Imperial Palace was crowned with a tower. In the tympanum to figures that were created by Hans Hartmann- MacLean were. In the vestibule of a colossal window by Josef Goller was designed. The ground floor and first floor were covered with sandstone, plastered the upper floors.

When the air raids on Dresden in February 1945, the Imperial Palace was destroyed by fire. In 1951 the ruins were left standing demolished.
