Kajukenbo

Kajukenbo is a martial art. The name comes from the initials of the systems used together: Karate, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Kenpo and Chinese boxing and was developed by Adriano D. Emparado in Honolulu, Hawaii, in the years 1947 to 1949.

Development of Kajukenbo

In the development he had the support of other masters of different martial arts, Choo ( Korean Karate - Dangsudo ) Holeck ( Kodokan ( Judo ) ) and Chang ( Kung Fu ). In the years of 1947 and 1949, these instructors worked together and slowly developed the Kajukenbo style. The change occurred in 1959 when Adriano Emparado united the Shaolin martial arts with the Kajukenbo.

This gentle style puts more emphasis on the Kenpo elements in Kajukenbo, and its base is the connection between the northern and southern styles of Chinese martial arts. The northern styles, characterized by long, far-reaching techniques, and the southern styles, characterized by short, narrow, hard and soft Infight techniques have been to all of these elements of a comprehensive martial arts, combined with an applicable self-defense.
