Kaleidoscope (UK band)

Kaleidoscope was a British psychedelic rock band of the 1960s. In 1970, she released a single as I Luv Wight and then renamed itself to Fairfield Parlour. The band played in the typical caftan look psychedelic rock and pop in the Pink Floyd style.

Band History

In London, founded Pumer Eddie (guitar), Dan Bridgeman (drums ), Peter Daltrey (vocals, keyboards) and Steve Clark (bass, flute), the band The Sidekicks. The first group coverte R'n'B songs and named soon in The Key ' to. In 1967 she received ( thanks to the help of music publisher Dick Leahy, who then became her producer ) a recording contract with Fontana Records.

Their first single - which is also available in a rare picture cover - was a flop; but quickly followed by the album " Tangerine Dream", which became a cult plate. The original LP was 25 years later traded for 100 British pounds ( or more). Oldie market, a German magazine for record collectors, they referred to as " a masterpiece of psychedelic music from England " and gave their value in 2006 to € 134.40. Similar proceeds were for the second LP, while the five singles the band in 1991 were to be had for about 20 to 25 pounds.

1970 Kaleidoscope took a few songs on that were only released on CD "White -Faced Lady" in 1991. In the same year they changed their name first for a single in I Luv Wight, then - as they switched to Vertigo Records - Fairfield Parlour. The occupation still remained the same as in the founding in 1964. The two singles and an LP under the new name are approximately half as much as the as Kaleidoscope.

End of 1970, the band broke up. Dan Bridgeman emerged with the single " Blister Boogie" again in the formation freen Beans on.

The same U.S. band " Kaleidoscope", which also played psychedelic rock, was about the same time active (1963-1977) and named in 1970 for the market in the UK "American Kaleidoscope" to.
