Kamal Qureshi

Kamal Hameed Qureshi ( born July 29, 1970 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan ) is a Danish physician and politician of the Socialist People's Party ( SF).

Biography

Kamal Qureshi was born in Pakistan as Indian -born child parents. When he was five years old, his family moved to Copenhagen. After graduation Qureshi studied medicine at the University of Copenhagen. In 2000, he became a doctor.

His political career started Qureshi in the radical Venstre radical youth organization Ungdom, but quickly moved to SF. Shortly after, he was elected to the party executive of the SF and set up as Folketing candidate. Since 2001 he has been there and deputy health and gender equality policy spokesman for the SF Group.

Over time, he participated in various humanitarian and volunteer assignments. Among other things, he was sent by the Danish National Church in 2003 as a doctor in Iraq. He was dressed in 2004, the initiative to campaign " Frihed til forskellighed " ( freedom for diversity ), which deals critically with the current government policy and its image of man.
