Kamalaśīla

Kamalashila ( * ca 713, † 763 ) was an Indian writer and scholar of Mahayana Buddhism. He was a student Shantarakshita and was invited to his advice at the time Thrisong Detsen to Tibet.

Historical significance for Buddhism in Tibet had a guided 792-794 debate between Kamalashila and Heshang Moheyan in Samye Monastery, which was also known as the Great Debate of Samye or Council of Lhasa.

Among the best known works include Kamalashila three texts, all of the titles Bhavana - krama ( Tib: sgom rim; " Stages of Meditation " ) wear.
