Kamov Ka-60

The Kamov Ka -60 Kasatka (Russian Камов Ка -60 Касатка, German orca) is a multi-role helicopter for the service in the armed forces of Russia.

Construction

In this helicopter Kamov departed from his usual design a coaxial double rotors. Instead, follow the Kamov Ka -60 with a main building and a fenestron tail rotor for torque balancing the conventional design of helicopter construction. To save weight and to reduce the radar signature of composite materials have been used in the production, which make up 60 % of its weight. Production and use

The Kamov Ka -60 is intended as a replacement model for the Mil Mi -8. The helicopter will take over the transport of troops, weapons and ammunition and perceive reconnaissance and target marking functions. In addition, it is also provided as rescue helicopters for the transport of wounded. Construction is expected to take place at VPK / MAPO in Moscow and Ulan- Ude. The Kamov Ka - 62 is a civilian variant of the helicopter is planned. However, an exact future seems unclear, as the Mi- 38 is also provided as a successor to the Mi-8/17.
