Kampong Thom Province
Kampong Thom (Khmer: កំពង់ធំ; transcription: Kâmpóng Thum, IPA: [ t ʰ kɑmpoŋ to ] ) is a province of Cambodia with the same name province capital. The province borders north of the Tonle Sap and is located approximately in the middle of the country.

The province is divided into eight districts:
- Baray
- Kompong Svay
- Prasat Balangh
- Prasat Sambour
- Sandan
- Sautuk
- Stoung
History
In the province of Kampong Thom Sambor Prei Kuk are Ruinenenkomplex. This goes back to the historic city Isanapura, which was the capital of the Kingdom of Chenla in the 7th and 8th centuries.
Economy
Kuwait in 2008, a total of 486 million U.S. dollars promised to fund the north of the province of Kompong Thom a dam on the Stung Sen River and irrigation systems for new to be tapped rice acreage. The development project has to export the target harvested rice to Kuwait.
