Kapf (Egenhausen)

In the northern Black Forest, about halfway between Freudenstadt and Calw, perched the Egenhäuser Kapf with 635 m above sea level. NN is the highest elevation on the Bömbachtal; Crow about eight km ( north- ) west of Nagold or about three kilometers south- east of the old gate, between the municipalities Egenhausen and forest village.

It is home to much of the nature and landscape protection area " Egenhäuser Kapf with Bömbachtal ". Since 1969 carries the " Egenhäuser Kapf " the award conservation area. He became known among other things, the rare in these latitudes silver thistle, which therefore also the coat of arms of Egenhausen characterized.

On the western slope merging into red sandstone, the Kapf is otherwise largely from gray-blue to green- brown limestone soils, which form the basis for juniper heaths, meadows, stone fences and small quarries. Even in 1860 pastured roughness Bastard Sheep on the gentian semi-arid grassland of the mountian Egenhausen.

On the Egenhäuser Kapf the Evangelical sports and leisure home Kapf is located. It belongs to the Evangelical Youth in Württemberg. Since 1950, the grounds for conducting camps will be used at the beginning of the 1960s, the leisure center was built.
