Karaman, formerly Larende, Laranda, perhaps Hittite Landa, is a Turkish city in Asia Minor and has 144 178 inhabitants ( 2013). It is the provincial capital of the province of Karaman, however, was previously linked to Konya. The license plate number of the city and the province begin with the number 70

In the Yunus Emre Camii - the oldest building from the Karamanidenperiode ( 1349 ), the grave of Yunus Emre is to be located (by 1280-1321 ). To the west of the city lies the Seljuk citadel of Karaman.
