Ermenek, formerly Germanicopolis, is a Turkish city in the province of Karaman. Ermenek located in the southwest of the province and borders the provinces of Mersin. The city has 10.609 inhabitants Ermenek and the county 31 341 (2008 ).

Ermenek lies at an altitude of about 1200 meters in the Taurus Mountains at the confluence of two headwaters of the Göksu. There the Ermenek Dam was built in 2009.

The city in ancient times was part of the landscape Isauria and was named after the Roman general Germanicus. Ermenek under Roman and later Byzantine rule. The name Germanicopolis changed afterwards among the Armenian Rubeniden in the 12th century to Germanig to. 1228 conquered the Turkish Rum Seljuks under her ruler Kai Kobad I. Ermenek. After the decline of the Rum Seljuk Ermenek became part of the Principality of Karaman. The name changed to the time of Germanig to Ermenek. In the 15th century the Karaman were defeated by the Ottomans and Ermenek part of the Ottoman Empire. This remained so until 1923. Since Ermenek is part of Turkey.
