Karel Geraerts

Karel Geraerts ( born January 5, 1982 in Genk ) is a Belgian footballer who plays for Club Brugge in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

Playing career

Karel Geraerts began his career as a footballer at the top Belgian club FC Bruges, for which he already played in the youth. However, between 2000 and 2004, he was only nine league games he played for the Belgians. Yet he could ever celebrate once the cup and the championship with his team. He also reached three Supercup victory with FC.

In January 2004, after he spent the entire first round without use, it moved to the league rivals Geraerts SC Lokeren, where he was allowed to play 16 times in the second half. After only half a year, but he left Lokeren already again and signed a long-term contract at Standard Liege. In standard he could develop into a leading player and was national player - for a title never passed it with standard but, even once the runners-up and once the cup final was reached.

Since summer 2007, Karel Geraerts plays back at his former club and reigning champions FC Bruges.
