Karen Schmeer

Karen Schmeer ( born February 20, 1970 in Portland, Oregon; † January 29, 2010 in New York City ) was an American film editor.

Life

Schmeer was born on February 20, 1970 in Portland, Oregon. She was the daughter of Michael Schmeer and Eleanor Dubois, and granddaughter of the photographers Ray Atkeson. After graduating from high school at Lincoln High School in Portland in 1988, she began studying at Boston University anthropology, where she graduated in 1992 with a bachelor's degree. After she had worked in her youth as a ticket seller at a cinema, her second job in the film business was an unpaid internship with the documentary filmmaker Errol Morris, where she was responsible for the research.

On 29 January 2010 she was just 20 Next clock time on the 90th Street cross the Broadway and has been done by flight vehicle of a robbery, which was pursued by the police, run over. She died still in transit to St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital Center. The driver was arrested and the New York City Police Department later stated that some mistakes had happened during the persecution.
