Kari Laukkanen

Kari Laukkanen ( born December 14, 1963 in Pielavesi ) is a former Finnish football goalkeeper, who joined the coaching job after the end of his active career.

Sports career

Kari Laukkanen began his playing career in 1982 with the Finnish first division Kuopio PS, in which he could work out a permanent place right away. In 1986, Laukkanen, which had already become keeper of the Finnish national football team, Cercle Bruges. After only one season Laukkanen Cercle Brugge left again in the direction of Kuopio, but moved shortly thereafter to the Stuttgarter Kickers.

In 1988 he succeeded with the Stuttgarter Kickers promotion to the Bundesliga. Laukkanen could assert itself as a goalkeeper in Stuttgart. Following Laukkanen joined for five seasons for SV Waldhof Mannheim. After eight years of professional football in Germany it attracted Laukkanen again in the Finnish League, where he found his last major station in FinnPa. After that, only more guest appearances followed, such as the Hango IK or Riihimäen Ilves, both in 1999, before Laukkanen also finished his career as a player.

After his playing career Laukkanen worked as an assistant coach at FC Honka Espoo and the Finnish U-18 national team. He then held the post of under other head coach at Nurmijärven JS and was goalkeeping coach of the Finnish U-21 national team. When he graduated in 2005 as Nurmijärven JS 41 -year-old also an official league game.
