Karima Delli

Karima Delli ( born March 4, 1979 in Roubaix ) is a French politician (Les Verts ) and since 2009 a member of the European Parliament.

Life and study

Karima Delli grew up in modest circumstances in Tourcoing. She is the daughter of Algerian immigrants, her father is working in the textile industry. Delli is the ninth of thirteen children of the family. After graduating from the High School of Industry and Trade took her in Lille on a course of study that they with a corresponding to the master diplôme d' études approfondies (DEA ) graduated in Political Science in 2004.

From 2004 Delli was Parliamentary Assistant to the Senator Marie -Christine Blandin. Simultaneously, she began working on a doctorate in political science.

Policy

Delli is a member of the green party Les Verts in the 2007 parliamentary elections they ran in the Pas -de- Calais since 2005. From 2007 to 2008 she was a spokesperson for the party-affiliated youth organization Les Jeunes Verts. In addition, it operated political activities outside of traditional organizations, such as the Collectif Jeudi Noir, an Action against high rents and the housing bubble.

In the European elections in 2009 was elected to the European Parliament Karima Delli on the initiated and led by Daniel Cohn- Bendit list Écologie Europe.
